Measurement Instructions

1) After correctly setting up the measuring kit, enter the water temperature into the app. The water temperature input is likely needed only once at the beginning of the measurement. Then, place the dry cane on the upper part of the measuring stand to measure its weight and enter it into the app.

2) Next, submerge the cane in water. Secure any floating cane with the retaining hook to keep it in place. Enter this measurement into the app.

3) In this example, entering 1.62 for the dry measurement and 0.64 for the submerged measurement results in a density of 71.5.
If you have a hardness tester, you can input hardness data either during or after the density measurement.

The density, hardness, and other data are saved to the server and can be used for later analysis.

App Overview

The provided application includes the following features:

Density Calculation:

Along with density calculations, you can input up to two hardness measurements, reed brand, and additional notes. The app is designed to minimize user effort through features such as optional hardness input, assisted reed brand entry with auto-complete, and automatic numbering. All data is automatically saved to the cloud.

Data Management:

You can correct, edit, add to existing data, and make entries in the notes field.

Density and Hardness Analysis:

The accumulated data can be analyzed by reed brand to show the distribution of density and hardness measurements. The reed brand field is designed to accept entries such as 'Rigotti2022' or 'Alliaud23' etc. Both density and hardness data typically show near-normal distribution graphs, allowing you to evaluate the compatibility between your preferred density/hardness specifications and the characteristics of each reed brand. By including gauging thickness in entries (e.g., 'Medir21-1.4'), you can also analyze variations based on different gauging thicknesses.

This web service is provided as a bonus benefit to product purchasers and is not included in the product price. The webpage and web application may be suspended without prior notice for maintenance purposes. While we plan to maintain this service on an ongoing basis, please understand that we cannot guarantee perpetual service availability. This service is intended for individual players' use. We reserve the right to deny service in cases where data processing significantly exceeds the scope of individual use.

Important Notice: These Terms of Service were originally created in Japanese and have been translated into English. In the event of any discrepancy between the Japanese and English versions, the Japanese version shall prevail.

Article 1 (Application and Governing Law)

  1. These Terms of Service (hereinafter referred to as "Terms") establish the conditions for use of the web application (hereinafter referred to as "Service") provided by [ReedHackersTokyo] (hereinafter referred to as "Company") to customers who have purchased [CDM-22] (hereinafter referred to as "Users").
  2. These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the [Tokyo District Court] of Japan in the first instance.
  3. Users shall use the Service in accordance with these Terms.

Article 2 (Service Description)

  1. The Service is a free web application that provides functions for recording measurement data, calculating density, and creating distribution graphs for [Product Name].
  2. The Service is provided as a supplementary service to [CDM-22] and is independent of the product warranty period.
  3. The Service is intended for individual use and is not designed for processing large volumes of data in business operations or organizational use.
  4. The Service quality may vary depending on the User's location and internet connection.

Article 3 (Eligibility)

  1. The Service may only be used by those who possess a serial number provided with the purchase of [CDM-22].
  2. One account will be issued per serial number.
  3. Users shall not transfer or lend their serial number or account information to third parties.
  4. Users must ensure they comply with all applicable local laws and regulations when using the Service.

Article 4 (Data Handling)

  1. The intellectual property rights of data entered into the Service by Users belong to the Users.
  2. The Company has the right to use User data for the following purposes:
  • Service operation and improvement
  • Creation and utilization of statistical data
  • Product and service quality improvement
  1. The Company may publish statistical data without obtaining individual consent from Users, provided that individual Users cannot be identified.
  2. Data is automatically backed up once daily, but the completeness of backups is not guaranteed.
  3. Users are strongly recommended to export and maintain their own backup of their data.
  4. The Company stores and processes all data in Japan, in accordance with Japanese laws and regulations.

Article 5 (Prohibited Actions)

Users shall not engage in the following actions when using the Service:

  1. Unauthorized use of the Service
  2. Actions that interfere with other Users' use
  3. Actions that place excessive load on the Company's servers
  4. Actions that interfere with Service operations
  5. Processing of large volumes of data beyond individual use.
  6. Any other actions deemed inappropriate by the Company
  7. Actions that violate any applicable laws or regulations, whether Japanese or local to the User

Article 6 (Account Suspension)

  1. The Company may suspend a User's account without prior notice if the Company determines that the User:
  • Has violated these Terms
  • Has engaged in any prohibited actions specified in Article 5
  • Has performed any other actions that interfere with Service operations
  1. While an account is suspended, the Service cannot be used; however, with Company approval, the export of stored data may be permitted.
  2. If the Company determines that improvement is unlikely after account suspension, the account may be permanently deleted.
  3. The Company assumes no responsibility for any damages resulting from account suspension or deletion.

Article 7 (Temporary Suspension and Termination of Service)

  1. The Company may temporarily suspend or terminate the Service in the following cases:
  • When performing system maintenance or updates
  • When Service operation becomes difficult due to natural disasters, technical issues, or third-party interference
  • When security issues arise
  • When the Company determines suspension or termination is necessary for other reasons
  1. When terminating the Service, the Company will notify Users one month in advance and provide a period for data export.
  2. Notwithstanding the preceding paragraph, the Company may terminate the Service without prior notice in cases of unavoidable circumstances.

Article 8 (Disclaimer)

  1. The Company assumes no responsibility for:
  • Data loss due to system failures
  • Service suspension or termination
  • Data breaches due to unauthorized access
  • Damages arising from Service use
  • Any issues arising from international use of the Service
  • Translation errors or misunderstandings
  • Network connectivity or performance issues
  • Any other damages related to the Service
  1. The Company may add, modify, or delete Service content.
  2. The Company makes no guarantees regarding the reliable provision of the Service and provides no warranties regarding its completeness, accuracy, usefulness, or any other aspects.

Article 9 (Support)

  1. Support for the Service will be provided through the [CDM-22] support desk.
  2. Support coverage includes:
  • Basic function operation methods
  • Technical issues related to accounts
  • System malfunctions (addressed within possible scope)
  1. Support is provided primarily in Japanese. While we make efforts to accommodate English-speaking users, response times and support quality may vary.

Article 10 (Changes to Terms)

  1. The Company may modify these Terms at any time.
  2. Modified Terms shall take effect from the time of posting on the Company website.
  3. Users shall be deemed to have agreed to the Terms in effect at the time by using the Service.

Article 11 (Severability)

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable under any applicable law, such invalidity or unenforceability shall not affect the remaining provisions of these Terms, which shall remain in full force and effect.
